Review: NYC Expert Last Lip Color

Thursday, March 10, 2016

Apologies for the disappearing act over here! Naturally, my weekend in Florida was chaotic and I have been so busy since returning on Monday evening that I haven’t had time to do anything with my blog! Hopefully things will return to normal by next Monday.

Since mentioning on here that my new favourite lipstick cost me a whopping $1.50, I’ve had a dozen people ask me which one it is so without further ado, let me present it to you! I’ve actually owned two of these lipstick for a while now but it wasn’t until I picked up two new colors during my last trip to Walmart that I became obsessed.

Now they may not compare to a $50 Dior lipstick, but for a drugstore product at that price, I seriously recommend giving them a try. They are pigmented and glide on easily but my favourite part is how comfortable they are to wear. Granted, I am used to wearing matte lip stains which are super drying but these are moisturizing without the color slipping everywhere over your face. They last a good 3-4 hours and fade evenly with a nice stain on the lips.

Did I mention that they are available at Walmart for the irresistible price of 2 for $3? (I think they are $1.99 each but why only get one when you can get a deal on two?). I seriously struggle to walk past the display without picking up a couple but I will definitely be back for a few more colors soon.

The lip swatches aren’t the best as I was rushing to catch the light before it disappeared, so you can blame the splotchy application on me, not the product.

The only thing that I don’t like about the lipstick is the scent, as it’s a bit plastic and sickly. However, I haven’t noticed it once applied to my lips. The packaging is simple and the covers snap in to place, however, the cover of the fuchsia lipstick came off in my makeup bag, so be wary of that! The clear top also allows you to see the product color which is convenient as many drugstore products are sealed and without a tester you cannot see the actual color.
As I mentioned, you can buy them at Walmart here in Canada, and probably other drugstores such as Shoppers and Lawtons, though they may cost a little more there. They are also available on Amazon, though the price tends to vary between colors. I think they are also available at Walmart and K-Mart in the U.S.
Have you ever tried this lipstick? I’d love to hear your thoughts!
